The “Low” Life — Your Despised Lifeline

Two invaluable traits when writing a screenplay are imagination and the willingness to do research. Here’s an article that comprises a bit of the research I’ve done for the one I’m writing right now. I’ve done plenty of hard work in my life, especially when I was younger and fitter, but I don’t know there was ever a time I would have lasted an hour doing what migrant farm workers do. To me, it’s a shame that we scorn and ignore those who pick the fruits and berries. They suffer, ruin their knees, their backs, their health, and suffer miscarriages and birth defects from constantly breathing insecticide-laden atmosphere, all while often laying low to dodge the law.

Anyway, fruit comes from the supermarket, right? That’s all we really need to know, huh?
